Each October Womanfocus presents  it’s  annual  Escape.  The Escape is a  day of reflection and fun.  Last year we chose to bring the adolescent component and the  adult  woman  component  together  through  a  Mother  Daughter  Day.  The theme was Healthy Connections.  Held the fourth Saturday in October this year’s event should prove to be as meaningful.  Our theme “ Getting to  Know You” will be filled with the food, dance and poetry and other aspects that make the Womanfocus Escape the successful event it is year after year.  To join us, or just to learn more about this event call us at 884-3256 x 211

Young Adult Transition Series (Targeting 17-25 yrs.)

Times of transition in life can be an opportunity for  healthy growth.   Or, as often is  the  case,  unexpected  changes  can  fester into unhealthy stagnation, which results   in   negative   lifestyle   choices   as   a   coping   strategy.   Moving  from adolescence to productive adult living is a time of transition.  The following issues are the top risks faced by 17-25 year olds.

·        Substance Abuse

·        Lack of Motivation

·        Social Distraction/Isolation

·        Inadequate Time Management

·        Stress

Our Young Adult Transition Series is a six-week interactive presentation that addresses topics such as:

·        Sober Minds Healthy Choices

·        Exploring Personal Standards

·        Creating Positive Support Systems

·        Setting Limits and Saying “No”

·        Managing Conflict to Reduce Stress
